and psychological problems with which the quake victims are seriously
dealt with.
Ayatollah Khamenei returned to Tehran Friday afternoon
It is narrated that Imam Sadiq (as) has said:
A Muslim always has three characteristics: knowledge about the
religion, good management of life, and perseverance in the faces of
calamities.
This week, our thoughts turn to the difficulties we face in our lives, particularly in hearing of the tragedy of the earthquake in Bam, Iran. “Grant of patience (from Allah) is in proportion to the extent of the calamity you are passing through. If you exhibit fretfulness, irritation, and despair in calamities, then your patience and your exertions are wasted.”
[Imam Ali (AS) from Nahjul
Balagha]. “These four characteristics are from the manners of Prophets [AS]:
righteousness, graciousness, patience and perseverance in tolerating
misfortunes, and rising for the right of a believer.” [Imam Ja’far Sadiq
(AS) from Tuhaf-ul-Uqul P 277] “Patience is of two kinds: patience over what
pains you, and patience against what you covet.” [Imam Ali (AS) from Nahjul
Balagha].
