“The world commemorate victories. People erect statues for those, who, by their ruthlessness have vanquished their foes. The Muslim on the other hand commemorate a defeat; the defeat and disaster courted by Husein and his devoted followers in face of overwhelming hard drunk with power. Husein suffered defeat but would not yield to injustice and tyranny. This defeat arouses feelings of sympathy for a fallen martyr, and not admiration for a triumphant but unjust warrior. The world should read and ponder over the significance of a defeat like Husein’s which saved humanity.

Peace can only come when passions for ostensible victories die. Triumph over the mind lives longer than conquest of territories.”  - M. A. Ahmad
