Biography

Sayyid Ha’iri was born in Karbalaa in 1938. At the age of five he began his studies under the supervision of his mother - his first teacher. Later, at the age of seven he began learning under his father, who taught the young Sayyid Ha’iri seminary texts, until he completed his studies at a high level.
Ha'iri, at seventeen, attended many lectures of Sayyid Mahmoud Shahroudi at the Kharij level - profiting from his knowledge in the areas of Fiqh (jurisprudence) and Usool (principles). His studies under Shahroudi lasted about eighteen years. He was later introduced to Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Sadr; thus he was able to benefit from Ayatollah Sadr’s lectures on Fiqh, Usool, philosophy, and economics for fourteen years.
In 1973, Ha'iri left Iraq and migrated to Qum. At present, he is teaching Fiqh and Usool at the Kharij level in the Islamic Seminary of Qum.
