The
sage leader is an eminent faqih and erudite in biography and
criticism oftraditionists, history and literary. And in addition to his
profound job, he teaches the highstage in Fiqh and had many
remarkable compilations in various subjects too.
Biography
Ayatullah Kahmene'i was born
in 1929 for a religious family in the
holy city of Mashhad.His father Ayatullah Agha Sayyid Jawad was
an eminent mujtahid and a well-knownclergy in Mashhad, and his
grandfather Ayatullah Sayyid Husayn Khamene'i was afamous
clergy from Azerbaijan who dwelt in Najaf Ashraf.
The sage leader left behind a laborious childhood. He entered an
old-fashioned primaryschool when he was only five along with his
elder brother Sayyid Muhammad, then hewent to an Islamic
primary school called (Darut Ta`leem Diyanati). When he
graduatedfrom this school he entered the intermediate school and
within two years he graduatedfrom it having the diploma. Ayatullah
Khamene'i studied the basic lessons of theseminary up to
three-quarters of the well-known book called (lum`ah) with his
esteemedfather and the rest with Agha Mirza Ahmad Mudarris
Tabreezi, and studied the (resa'il)and (Makaasib) with Haj Shaykh
Hashim Qazweeni. He was able to finish the wholestage of Sotooh
within five years and six months. Then he began to attend the
Kharijlectures of Ayatullah Uzma Milaani. In 1957 Ayatullah
Khamene'i emigrated to NajafAshraf and during his short stay
there he attended the lectures of Ayatulla UzmaHakeem, Kho'e
and Shahroodi. After that he returned to Iran and began to benefit
fromthe lessons of Ayatullah Boroujerdi and Haj Agha Murtaza
Ha'iri, and in Fiqh and Usoolhe attended the lectures of Hazrat
Imam Khomeyni.
After the year 1955, Ayatullah Khamene'i began his revolutionary
struggle against thePahlawi regime and continued that until the
victory of the Islamic revolutionary of Iran.Ayatullah Khamene'i has
been exiled and imprisoned for many accusations. After
theIslamic revolution, the beloved leader occupied many
positions, some of which are themember of the revolutionary
assembly, the representative of the revolutionary assemblyin the
ministry of defence and acted minister of the same ministry, the
Imam Jum`ah ofTehran, the representative of Tehran, and a
president for two sessions. After the demiseof the great leader
Imam Khomeyni, he was elected the country's leader by the
sageand wise decision of the assembly of experts.
