Biography
Rayshahri was born in 1946 in
city of Ray, near Tehran. In 1960, after finishing primary school he entered Burhaan
Theological School in Ray. And in 1961, he migrated to Qom to complete his study. He
finished his seminary studies in Qom just before the victory of the Islamic Revolution. He
also migrated to Mashhad and Najaf for a short period of time for seminary studies.
Rayshahri has learned the advanced level of studies under Ayatollah Mirza Ali Mishkini,
Hajj Shaykh Muhammad Fazil Lankaraani, and Hajj Sayyid Muhammad Baqir Tabataba'i. And for
the Kharij stage of his seminary studies he learned under the late Ayatollah Hajj Shaykh
Muhammad Ali Araaki, and Hajj Shaykh Husayn Waheed Khuraasaani. He also studied Fiqh
(jurisprudence) under Ayatollah Mirza Ali Mishkini, Hajj Shaykh Jawadi Tabrizi, the late
Hajj Sayyid Muhammad Reza Gulpaaygaani, and the late Hajj Shaykh Murtaza Al-Ha'iri.
After the Islamic Revolution's victory, Rayshahri held in various positions in public
office.
